Lights

Of all the things I've seen written about strip clubs, in blogs, tweets, or reviews by strippers and customers a like nobody seems to mind the lights. So as I write, I am wondering if I am the only one who has issues with the lighting at clubs. Anyway here I go...

Stage lights seem to be as good place to start as any. Thank goodness, black lights aren't used as often as they were in the 80's, but clubs often use blue colored lights in their stead. Big mistake. When guys go to the club, we want to see the fantasy image of flawless, hot, & sexy women. We see normal, every day. With a blue light in place, you can see the real flaws, real women have (ok, we all have). A stretch mark, deodorant stain, scars...etc You name it big or small, it is going to have in impact. No one knows this more than the dancer's themselves. Every little flaw they see is magnified in their minds. It is liken to a teen going on a first date, and seeing a bump/zit on their nose. Usually it is no more than a slight bump, but to the teen it is a disaster. With this thinking in mind, how is a dancer's confidence going to suffer? How is she supposed to give you her best performance, when all she wants to do is go and hide?
That's just the dancer being observed. How about the customer? With the blue lights in place the customer might even have it worse, because he doesn't realize his flaws of dandruff, dirt and other imperfections are visible to the dancer. True not as bad as black lights, but still it is not good either.
The peeve as a customer I have with the stage lights, no matter what the color, is they're always aimed down into our eyes. You have to look up to see the girl dancing while sitting at the stage right, but you can't see much anyway because of the lights. It is the real reason most guys don't sit at the rack. They want to "see" the show. In my opinion, clubs should invest in some kind of reflective surface on the ceiling, and walls. That way the lights can be pointed there, and you will get more dazzle to your lights and they won't be in the eyes of the customer. I don't think that all stage lighting is bad, some of it is quite soothing. Like what the Dolphin 2 club has, it is this multi-colored light show that kind of swirls, painting the girl in a kind of 70's throw back. It's kind of cool.

Then their are the lights in and around the couch/table dance area. Again to bright at times. I know it has to be lit well enough for the bouncer to keep an eye on things, but come on. If the clubs would use wrap around lights (they look like tubes of light) on the posts and along the ceiling you would have a nice soft glow, to your dance area. More romantic for dancer/custy, and the bouncer can see what is what. It doesn't take much, just a little forward planning. Also if the lights are still to bright you can use curtains to dial it back a bit.

Oh well, guess I'm done complaining. I just wanted something different to write about. Feel free to comment.
